The EfL LearningShared Community
When your school, college, AP or other setting invests in Evidence for Learning, you also join and gain access to a rapidly growing nationwide and international community of SEND leaders and practitioners.
EfL is used in over 85% of specialist schools, colleges, alternate provisions throughout the UK and a growing number around the world. It’s also used in hundreds of mainstream schools and settings to support learners with SEND or additional learning needs.
Consequently there’s an incredible wealth of expertise and experience across the EfL LearningShared community and oodles of inspiring practice and innovation that you and your setting can tap into.
Conferences & Networking and Development Events
To capitalise and harness this, we host regional and national conferences, as well as networking and development days around the UK. These events, which are held throughout the year in different parts of the country, bring together leaders and practitioners from schools, colleges, alternative provisions and other settings across each region.
The events are a unique opportunity to share and discuss interpretations and approaches to SEND and inclusion with other leaders and practitioners.
In 2024/25, our EfL LearningShared events brought together over 1,100 leaders and practitioners and we have a new programme of events planned in 2025/26 to give you even more and richer opportunities for CPLD (Continuing Professional and Leadership Development), building out your professional network and developing collaboration with other schools and settings.
“It’s such a supportive space where you feel heard and leave with practical ideas you can use straight away.”
This short film captures the impact of our events bringing educators together to share experiences, learn from one another and leave with tools and confidence to make a real difference in their setting. Hear first-hand from those who’ve attended and get a sense of the energy, collaboration, and practical learning that make these gatherings so valuable.

Unique Collaborative CPLD Opportunities

EfL Bootcamp sessions (in-person)
Our regional Bootcamps offer teachers and leaders the opportunity to collaborate and network with colleagues from across their local area. Members of the EfL team will lead discussion and provide expert input as we explore what high quality evidence can look like, how it can be used to demonstrate and describe learning for different levels of need and share best practice around the use of EfL and Insights for Learning.

Virtual CPLD and networking events
A series of virtual events offering leaders and practitioners the opportunity to explore key themes such as working with families and experts by experience, AI, PfA and preparing for life, Ambitious curriculum and many more. Our experts will guide, steer and develop the conversation which will be punctuated by exemplification from leading schools across the community.

SEND in
Mainstream
As the complexity threshold of need grows and capacity and funding in the system continue to get ever tighter our school leaders in mainstream settings are facing more barriers and challenges than ever before to provide inclusive and aspirational provision for the most vulnerable learners.

National Themed Conferences (in person)
Our national themed conferences will provide a focused in-person event and opportunity for colleagues (leaders and practitioners) across the UK to come together to network, collaborate and respond to the key issues facing the specialist sector. Leading experts from the sector along with colleagues from the DfE and Ofsted will share illuminations, insights and provocations for roundtable discussions whilst lightning talk inputs showcase some of the very best practice from across the sector.
Online Communities of Practice
We have private groups on LinkedIn and Facebook where colleagues and peers can discuss and share thoughts, ideas, experiences, resources and learning on these crucial matters of learning, development and education provision. The groups are also an opportunity to connect people and help you to build a network that can support you on your own important journey over the coming months. Communities of practice if you will…
Facebook: EfL SEND Community Group
https://www.facebook.com/groups/eflSENDCommunity/
or search for “eflSENDCommunity”
The purpose of the group is to provide a safe, closed space to seek out and share ideas, experience and resources that can help with any and all aspects of SEND provision. It’s also a community for practitioners and schools that use Evidence for Learning and Insights for Learning to share ideas, resources and support each other in using these apps. It’s a peer moderated and supported group.
Facebook Group: Recovery Curriculum
We’ve set up a private facebook group at:
