EfL Insights for Learning Bootcamp: A day of Networking, Sharing and R&D

How schools develop and use data about learning and progress…both now and looking to the future. Exploring how schools and trusts are using EfL and Insights for Learning in particular to better understand learning, support progress and drive Quality of Education across the school.

*Includes a showcase of the new version of Insights for Learning – Insights for Learning 2.0*

This FREE event brings together schools, trusts plus members of the EfL team including the product and R&D team, to share and discuss how Insights for Learning (Insights) is being used in different ways across the community to assist in driving Quality of Education outcomes as well as enable meaningful reporting.

Across both specialist and mainstream settings, the role of assessment and data continues to evolve. Schools are working hard to build meaningful pictures and narratives about learning and progress – balancing clarity, workload and purpose.

This event is an opportunity to step back, reflect on current practice, come together with peers across the sector and explore what comes next.

The day is designed as a shared space to reflect on current approaches, explore what’s coming next, and work collaboratively towards a future vision for assessment and data across our settings.

You’ll hear directly from schools, engage in discussion with colleagues, and have the opportunity to directly contribute to the ongoing development of EfL Insights.

What to expect

The programme is structured across three connected parts, each building on the other throughout the day.

1. Current practice: using Insights in your setting

Schools will share how they are currently using Insights along with wider data to support planning and conversations about Quality of Education; to track learning and progress and provide meaningful reporting to key stakeholders.

Through a series of short lightning talks and facilitated roundtable discussions, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear practical examples from schools
  • Share your own approaches and experiences
  • Explore how others are using Insights in and across their setting(s)

2. Looking ahead: introducing Insights 2.0

The EfL team will provide an early look at and demonstration of the new Insights 2.0 toolkit.

This session will explore how the latest developments have transformed and simplified key admin tasks within Insights, as well as how colleagues across your setting(s) can access, query and manipulate your school’s data.

You’ll gain an understanding of:

  • Key improvements and new functionality
  • How these developments can support your setting
  • What this means for the future use of Insights

3. Shaping the future: collaborative R&D session

The final part of the day focuses on looking ahead together.

This is a collaborative session where schools, trusts and members of the EfL product development team will come together to explore what a future vision and approach to the effective and meaningful use of data about learning and progress might look like over the next 12–18 months.

This will include:

  • Exploring what effective systems and processes might look like going forward including useful integration of data across different systems.
  • Mapping out Learner Dashboards, MAT Dashboards and whole-school / MAT views of learning and progress
  • Sharing perspectives to help shape the future development of Insights for Learning and EfL.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the thinking and direction of both EfL and Insights for Learning, alongside colleagues from across the community.

Roundtable discussion & networking

As with all EfL events, there will be a strong emphasis on discussion, collaboration and shared learning throughout the day.

You’ll have time to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas and build relationships with others who are working through similar challenges and opportunities in their settings.

Bringing together a growing community

The EfL and LearningShared community continues to grow across both specialist and mainstream settings.

This event offers a valuable opportunity to come together, share experience and learn from one another, while contributing to the future direction of assessment and Insights within EfL.

Putting Children & Young People First: Rethinking What It Means to Thrive and Achieve

As the complexity shift of learners with SEND continues in all schools, the event will bring the community together to reflect on practice, thinking and solutions as we consider how to respond and continue providing the very best provision, opportunities and outcomes for the young people and families we serve.

Upcoming Virtual CPLD & Networking Events

Across the academic year we will be hosting a number of virtual CPLD and networking events (as part of the EfL LearningShared CPLD Programme) that offer a deep dive into key areas of SEND and inclusion. The focus of these events is to connect like minded colleagues who share a passion for a particular area of SEND and inclusion. Leading experts from across the sector will lead the sessions sharing national insights and provocations for us to explore and reflect on as a community.
