Frameworks

Frameworks

Evidence for Learning comes pre-loaded with many assessment frameworks but it can be used with ANY assessment framework!

You can import frameworks from our comprehensive Framework Library.

You can also add your own ‘I can…’ statements and other learning outcomes. Read on for instructions.

Framework Service

We offer a FREE support service if you want to import your own frameworks and aren’t sure where to start. We’ll help get you started.

Or if you prefer, we also offer a framework service. You can send us your frameworks and we’ll prepare YOUR frameworks ready to import straight to your devices. We only charge for our time and that will vary with the size and complexity of framework.  We always confirm a price prior to doing the work, so if in doubt, send us what you have and we’ll take a look and advise accordingly.

As always, you can email us at services@theteachercloud.net. We’re here to help!

How to add your frameworks

FIRST… Check the Framework Library to see if the framework you want to use is already formatted and ready to import. If it’s not in the Framework Library then you will need to prepare the framework data according to the formatting guidelines below. Then all you need to do is paste it in to the app where prompted.

We recommend building your framework data section by section adopting a trial and error approach, so copy and paste it into the app, see how it turns out, make any amends and try again. You can delete the ‘bad’ versions as you go. When you are happy with it, you should save a copy on your computer in case you want to revisit it later or import it into other devices.

Use the example below as a guide and also take a look at how the frameworks in the Framework Library are formatted.

If you have any questions or get stuck, just send us an email and we’ll be happy to help. (services@theteachercloud.net)

Formatting Guidelines

Most frameworks are structured with progressing levels of depth with sections, subjects, strands, topics and statements or descriptors. So we made the app support this type of structure.

– Each framework needs at least 1 section and at least 1 select-able item to make it useful.
– Each section and item on a separate line.
– All sections and items need at least one character.
– The items will be displayed in the same sort order as they are in your text.
– The first line is the first section.
– Represent sub-sections or ‘nested’ sections with hypens.
– Use a pair of square brackets [] immediately after the hypen to indicate the item can be selected.
– Check that you don’t nest 2 steps in one leap.
– A maximum of 4 levels nested.
