NEW FEATURES

Indicator Module

– This module lets you create various ‘indicators’ (single indicators and sets of indicators) which can be used by staff when gathering evidence to assess engagement and other key indicators of learning and development. Perfect for using with the Engagement for Learning Framework and Engagement Profile.
– Indicators allow you to capture more structured qualitative and quantitative observational data such as ‘Levels of Engagement’,  ‘Learner Feedback’, ‘Levels of Support/Prompting’, etc…
– You can create and define your own Indicators to meet your school’s needs or use pre-loaded Indicator Sets such as the Engagement Profile.
– Users can record Indicator data when capturing new Evidence or when editing existing Evidence.
– You can filter Evidence according to Indicators and view relevant Indicator data in Assessment Books to inform assessment and professional judgement of progress.
– New report type – Indicator Report, instantly generates PDF reports of your Indicator data including graphical charts if relevant. These can be shared with parents / carers and other stakeholders.

Additional New Features

– More versatile reporting options that let you include the most recent professional statement with the Assessment Book PDF tool and an ‘As at’ date filter so you can go back in time.

IMPROVEMENTS

– You can now choose to display the Framework Items first when making a PDF document.
– Export Assessment Book data now includes most recent Professional Statement.
– We’ve suppressed the Group Name (if selected) from the title page of a generated PDF Document.

– PLGs (Personal Learning Goals) enable you to create personalised Learner Framework/Assessment Items and change/update the frameworks, inserting new items, deleting and renaming others, re-ordering the items and so on.
– Convert your existing Individual’s Frameworks and Assessments to the new PLG format allowing you to modify existing Frameworks.
– Assessment Managers can control/approve changes and view all Assessment Books and edit all PLGs.
– Make a PDF from inside an Assessment Book reflecting the PLG/Assessment Books’ assessment data and evidence summary, save the file directly into the Learner’s Cloud Profile and share with Parent/Carer.

Version 4.0 – Release Notes

Release date: 17th September 2015

Version 4.0 is a significant upgrade with many new features and updates to the cloud infrastructure and the iOS app in particular new synchronisation engine and user interface.  We can’t list them all but here are the main updates.

NEW FEATURES

– All new user interface and menus
– You can use the app in a range of 11 pre-set themes (pink, blue, orange, green, yellow, carbon, candy floss, ocean, opal, fire, sunset) It’s great for multi-device settings or just for fun
– Upgraded Cloud and Synchronisation Engine including…
— New Educator and Administrator Roles provide the user with context sensitive features, either for setting up the device or using it
— We’ve replaced the merge and add to cloud data processes with ‘Pair this Device’ as a step by step assistant to sync data between your device and the cloud
— Once ‘paired’ your device will sync your system data automatically (Learners, Groups, Tags, Frameworks, Date Ranges and Comment Templates)
— Once ‘paired’ your Evidence will automatically sync to the central Learner Cloud Profiles.  (This lets you capture evidence on one device and see it almost immediately with another and gives you total peace of mind that ALL your data is safe and secure in the Evidence for Learning Cloud)
— View Evidence and Reports in the Learner’s Cloud Profile
— Use the Device Manager to view all connected devices, their status and any alerts/warning

Version 3.2 – Release Notes

NEW FEATURES
– When making a Grid Template you can choose to leave the specified learners blank. If you ‘Make a Grid’ based on a Grid Template that has no learners it’ll ask you to pick one or more prior to producing the PDF file. Now there’s no need to build a progress Grid Template for all your learners!
– Introduced the Merge Data tool for linking your local data to your subscription’s cloud data (Subscribers with cloud services only)

IMPROVED
– Changed the Cloud Profile document sort order.
– Cannot select rows on the Cloud Usage screen.
– Removed the ‘credits: unlimited’ message on the Make a Document screen for subscribers.
– If no documents exist in the Learner Profile it now says it’s empty rather than leaving the screen blank.

– Fixed a bug when determining whether the device could connect to the internet – phew!

– Fixed a bug which in some circumstances was causing very high resolution images to be added into the docs resulting in very large file sizes – sorry about that! You can re-run the docs now to recreate smaller versions. (then delete the big ones)

Version 2.8 – Release Notes

NEW Features
– Lots of requests for this… For those with subscriptions you can now capture up to 3 images per observation/evidence. Just slide the image to the left and add another 😀 Great for telling a story showing the beginning, middle & end!

– Bulk delete evidence in one hit. Don’t worry you can’t do it by accident! Menu > Settings > Delete Evidence and choose a Date Range and or Student. This makes it easy to delete last years observations, maybe last term/semester or maybe you just need to clear a single student from the app.

IMPROVED
– We’ve relabelled ‘Subjects’ to ‘Tags’. If you want to carry on using them as subjects thats fine, but it also lets us use tags such as WOW Moment, From Parents, At Home, Learning Walk etc…

BUG FIXES
– Fixed a bug which forgets some Date Ranges in the Filter.

– Introduced dynamic date ranges to the date range picker. This means you can add your own date ranges as before but also choose from the these too… Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 14 days, This Month & Last Month.
– New Evidence browser – more useful, more powerful and faster. Basically you open My Evidence from the Quick Menu and then choose your filters and Hey-Presto! You can filter drafts/published, dates, students, subjects, classes, framework items. It remembers a filter, it’ll tell you the filter criteria as you open the view and it’s got the NEW dynamic date ranges too. So you can leave it set to this week’s evidence and never have to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll ever again 🙂 If you do like scrolling we’ve left the original evidence browsers in the Main Menu.

IMPROVED
– We’ve relabelled Menu to Main Menu, so it’s more obvious that there are 2 menus (Main Menu and Quick Menu)
– The Evidence browsers now sort by student then by date (most recent at the top)
– Improved sort order with My Documents & Grids when set to sort by Student.

– Grids! We’ve tried to make them as versatile as possible. Create a Grid Template in the Settings (specify Students, frameworks, layout options, paper size etc) and then use the templates to Make Grids anytime for an instant real-time view of all the evidence in the app saved as a PDF. As with the profiling documents you can choose to send to email, printer, Google Drive, Dropbox, SkyDrive and other apps etc… Excellent for planning or to track progress. Can even be used to make and track progress for IEPs or individual plans for students.
– Now when you link framework items for a single student the framework picker indicates the parts of the framework that student already has evidence for.
– Word wrapping on the framework items
– We have added a Helpful Hints section
– We’ve also updated the preload Frameworks
– We’ve made a quicker way of adding frameworks including the Australian and New Zealand Curriculum

– We’ve changed Reports to Documents. They work in exactly the same way, they are the same thing, we’ve litereally relabelled them so ‘Make a Report’ is now ‘Make a Document’, ‘All Reports’ is now ‘All Documents’, ‘Report Settings’ is now ‘Document Settings’ and ‘Report Credits’ are just called ‘Credits’. We think this is a more fitting descriptionwe hope you like it.
– For Pay-As-You-Go users your Credits balance is now displayed in the menu to make it easier to keep track.
– The white borders and shadow effect for images are now available to Pay-As-You-Go users 😀
– We’ve tidied the school subscription optionsin the menu to say ‘Sign In’ and ‘Sign Out’ and we’ve reworded the credentials on the sign in page itself.
